Discovering emotion and affect in the past is notoriously difficult, and for non-verbal contexts such as prehistory, it is even harder. However, for the classical world, the history of emotions has become a thriving subfield.  What can this literature offer to the archaeologist, and conversely, what can the archaeologist offer to a history of emotions?
